There are more major roadworks in Hull looming just on the horizon with 17 individual works taking place this month and 10 projects on the way in the coming months. Work to improve Priory Road began on Monday, and surface dressing to residential streets across the city has also begun. Read more: Digging starts on Hull's most expensive and biggest ever hole Hull City Council says that the improvements taking place will ensure that the shared road surfaces are smooth, safe and skid-resistant for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians alike. The council reminding residents that they still have time to have their say in the transport survey which closes in a few weeks. Roadworks are currently taking place on a number of major routes around the city Councillor Dean Kirk, portfolio holder for transportation, roads, highways and flood prevention, said: “We want people who live, visit and travel around the city to share their views on how we develop plans to implement a more sustainable and accessible transport system for everyone, and the feedback people provide in this survey is absolutely critical to this.” Motorists are advised to plan their journey before travelling using One.Network, and to keep up-to-date with Stoneferry Corridor works download the Hello Travaux app on the App Store on Google Play. Among these are three month works along the length of Beverley Road to install new cycle lanes. Similar works are underway on Holderness Road with additional works on that road beginning with pavement reconstruction which is set to last a year from September. Another major project on the horizon is the works on Priory Way which will see major improvements made with the widening of the carriageway and the creation of three-signal junctions.
