A63 accident: Police statement as woman flees scene of serious crash leaving driver hurt

The A63 was closed after a serious crash between two vehicles at around 6.30pm on Thursday, October 17. The eastbound carriageway of the A63 remains partially closed following the collision. Emergency services closed the carriageway between South Cave (A1034 junction) and North Ferriby (A15 junction) after two cars, thought to be travelling in the same direction, crashed. The driver of one car has been injured although police say the extent of their injuries is not known at this stage. A woman, thought to be travelling in a silver MG Rover, is believed to have fled the scene of the collision and may still be in the area. The road was closed off on the A63 close to the Welton turn off (Image: Hull Live) A spokeswoman for Humberside Police said: “The eastbound carriageway was fully closed for over an hour and is now partially closed to allow some vehicles through. The road is likely to remain partially closed throughout the evening and drivers are advised to drive with caution or avoid the area if possible. “A woman, thought to be travelling in a silver MG Rover, is believed to have fled the scene of the collision and may still be in the area. It is not known if she is injured but anyone has information about this is asked to contact the police.
