A63 and M62 traffic: Drivers warned of week of roadworks and closures

Motorists have been warned of a string of road closures on the A63 and M62 over the next week. Highways England has announced it will be carrying out road improvement work on the major road in and out of Hull from Monday, July 29 to Friday, August 2. The work will see stretches of the carriageways fully closed overnight throughout the week, with diversions set to be in place for motorists. Highways England said: “The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of Friday, July 26 and could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. “All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.” There are also ongoing roadworks on the Humber Bridge, with drivers warned to expect heavy delays. The full list of closures during the coming week is below:  A63 Daltry Street to Priory Way Congestion on Castle Street (Image: Peter Harbour) The westbound carriageway will be fully closed overnight for two nights from Monday, July 29 for barrier repair work. The closure will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes. A63 Melton The westbound entry slip road will be fully closed overnight on Wednesday, July 31 for barrier repair work. The closure will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.  A63 Mytongate to South Coates The eastbound and westbound carriageway will be fully closed overnight on Wednesday, July 31 and then again on Friday, August
