A spillage of offal has caused the closure of the A63 westbound on Friday evening. The load was shed mid-afternoon and initially caused only a lane closure on the A63 westbound between the A15 and A1034. But in an update on social media, National Highways: North East have confirmed the nature of the spillage and the entire closure of the A63 westbound: “The #A63 in Humberside is closed westbound between the #A15/A1105 near #Hessle and the #A1034 near #SouthCave following a large spillage of offal. “Contractors are in attendance to start clean up, more information to follow. Thank you.” Offal are the entrails and internal organs of an animal used as food.
