A63 closures as £355 million project moves into next phase…
Commuters in Hull are being told to allow more travel time as work on the A63 Castle Street scheme begins its next phase. National Highways are progressing essential works on a new junction at Mytongate as a part of a major project that will improve car journeys in Hull. As a part of this next step in the upgrade, a part of the A63 will be lowered to create an underpass. To allow work on the new split-level junction to commence safely, a week's worth of different overnight road closures on the A63 have been announced. The closures will cover both east and westbound traffic between Daltry Street and Roger Millward Way, including Ferensway slip roads. The massive project looks set to be completed by 2025 to help allow free-flowing traffic to and from the city while improving the air quality in Hull. An extra date of Tuesday, November 21 has been issued as a precaution should any work need to be rescheduled. This contingency day is scheduled for between 10 p.m. and 6 p.m. Hull Live reported in September 2022 that there were plans to lower the A63 by up to seven metres
