A lane closure was in place on the A63 on Thursday morning. Police say officers were called to a “single vehicle road traffic collision” on the A63 in Brough. Travel system Inrix said at the time it was partially blocked due to a crash from Welton Road (Welton) to B1231 Melton Road (Melton). “A63 Eastbound partially blocked, slow traffic due to accident from Welton Road (Welton) to B1231 Melton Road (Melton),” the site said. Meanwhile, a post in the Hull Traffic and Travel Facebook group on Thursday morning said: “Accident just happened slip road Brough onto A63 towards Hull, three cars at standstill.” Humberside Police had also Tweeted: “Please be aware we are dealing with a incident on the A63 just past the Brough turn in heading towards Hull. Lane two (of two) is closed. Affecting traffic heading towards Hull,” it said before later confirming traffic was easing after the lane reopened. Meanwhile, Highways England also warned:”#A63 eastbound towards #Hull – Lane 2 is closed due to an overturned vehicle around #Melton #NorthFerriby. #TrafficOfficers on scene arranging recovery, congestion building.” But later confirmed: “Vehicle recovered and all lanes are now open.
