Plans to fully close part of the A63 in Hull this weekend have been cancelled as the closure is “no longer needed”. Earlier this month, National Highways announced another series of road closures as work continues on the major project to transform the A63 Castle Street and create a new junction at Mytongate. A new split-level junction is being created by lowering the level of the A63 to create an underpass, with Ferensway and Commercial Road crossing the A63. These will continue tonight (Thursday) and tomorrow night between 8pm and 6am between Daltry Street and Roger Millward Way. However, National Highways has now cancelled a previously announced full weekend closure that was set to be in place both ways from 8pm this Friday until 6am on Monday. In a post on social media, it said: “CANCELLED – full weekend closure eastbound and westbound, this closure is no longer needed.” Looking further ahead, another overnight closure is being lined up on the eastbound carriageway between 8pm on Friday, September 13 and 8am on Saturday, September 14.
