The busy part of the A63 was closed in both directions from 8pm on Friday, and was due to reopen at 6am on Monday. Instead, the road was reopened early on Sunday afternoon, reconnecting Mytongate with Roger Millward Way. The road closure was put in place so the new footbridge could be secured in place across the A63, creating a safe route for pedestrians and cyclists from the Old Town to
