A stretch of the A63 was closed after an accident on the A63. It happened on the eastbound carriageway, just before the Welton Road junction near Brough/Welton.. Posting in the Hull Traffic and Travel Facebook group, a witness said: “A63 closed between South Cave and Brough turnoff, eastbound. It doesn’t look good.” Another said there were “lorries everywhere”. It was feared that a person had been hurt, though this has not been confirmed. People at the scene reported seeing a heavy presence from police and the ambulance service. One said: “Air ambulance has landed on A63 eastbound at the Welton slip-road just before the footbridge.” The accident is believed to have happened at around 12.45pm. Traffic service Inrix said: “A63 in both directions closed, queueing traffic due to police incident from A1034 Brough Road (South Cave) to Welton Road (Welton).” The road has since reopened.
