A69 | Northumberland | Carriageway Closure | Delays

The A69 is currently closed from its junction
with the A68 near Corbridge to the A6079 near Hexham with delays of at least 15 minutes
on the westbound carriageway. This closure is due to a
road traffic collision and recovery and Highways England has resources
deployed working hard to restore normal conditions as soon as possible.

For traffic approaching the closure locally, you are advised to expect
disruption with extra journey time and may potentially have to re-route your
journey. 

If travelling towards this area from much farther afield, you may wish to
change your strategic route, allow extra travel time and follow guidance from
our on-road variable message signs and media.  

Diversion route is signed by the hollow square diversion symbol the details and guidance are as follows;

Take A69 westbound exit slip road at Stagshaw Road
interchange. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto A68 towards Jedburgh.  At Stagshaw roundabout take the 1st exit on to B6318 at towards
Chollerford. Before Chollerford, turn left on to A6079 towards Hexham. Continue on A6079 through the villages of Wall and Acomb. Turn left at A69/A6079 Acomb junction on to A69 eastbound. U-turn at Bridge End roundabout and rejoin A69 westbound
carriageway.
