Man arrested after car crashes into telegraph pole in east…

A man was arrested after a car crashed into a telegraph pole in east Hull this morning. Photographs taken from the scene in Portobello Street, near Marfleet Lane, appear to show workmen installing a new telegraph pole. Humberside Police said a man was arrested at the scene shortly after the crash at 12:45am this morning. There were no reports of serious injuries as a result of the crash and traffic is moving freely down the street. A spokesperson for the police said: “A 66-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit to do so through drugs after officers were called to a road traffic collision on Portobello Street this morning (Tuesday 6 February). “We were called at around 12:45am to reports that a car had collided with an electrical pole. Thankfully nobody was seriously injured. The man has since been released whilst officers continue with enquiries
