Film productions, gas works and new phone cables are behind roadworks across Hull in the coming weeks. Busy streets including Calvert Lane, in Hull city centre; Cavendish Lane in east Hull; and Air Street, off Bankside, are among those affected. We’ve put together a comprehensive list, based on information supplied by Hull City Council. The lastest works come on top of a number of ongoing projects, including improvements to the A63 through the city centre, and a pioneering new drainage scheme for Rosmead Street, east Hull. Meanwhile, some disruption is due to end soon, including water main works in Derringham Street, west Hull, and carriageway widening in Wawne Road, Bransholme. Air Street closed at roundabout. Bank Side / Wincolmlee to remain open under two-way signals – Northern Gas Network (NGN) Alfred Gelder Street, city centre: February 12 – Film production. Road closed between Lowgate and Quay Street from 6am to 10am – Filming Calvert Lane, west Hull: January 31 to February 2 – New gas connection near junction with Boundary Way. Two-way signals in place between 9.30am and 3.30pm – Energy Assets Cavendish Road, east Hull: February 13 to March 26 – Reconstruct existing footpath. Four-way lights (manually operated 7am to 7pm). Work to be done in phases to reduce the amount of footpath closed. Footpath on opposite side to remain open during works – HCC Portland Place, city centre: February 6 to February 10 – D
