Hull City Council has issued its weekly roadworks update update. It says essential overnight resurfacing works will continue next week in the latest phase of the multimillion-pound Stoneferry improvement scheme. During the work, Stoneferry Road (southbound) will be closed from Ferry Lane Roundabout to Chamberlain Roundabout. This will include the Lorraine Street junction. Click here for more news. The work is being undertaken overnight (7pm to 6am) on weeknights in order to minimise disruption. It is now expected to finish on Wednesday, November 17. Councillor Dean Kirk, portfolio holder for transportation, roads and highways said: “With the Stoneferry improvement scheme, we are improving access and use for thousands of residents and businesses in the area.” Read more here. Details of work: Enable H&S and safe systems of works for operatives working on the scheme. Organisation: National Highways. A63 Castle Street scheme – St James Street to Market place Start date: 1/5/20. Completion date: 1/5/25. Details of work: Lane closures and local diversions until completion of scheme. LGV diversion signed via East Riding Council to limit number of LGVs in city centre. Organisation: National Highways. Argyle Street Start date: 12/12/21. Completion date: 12/12/21. Details of work: Disconnect water supply. Footpath closure with walkway in carriageway at exit from NHS car park. Organisation: Yorkshire Water. Barham Road Start date: 29/11/21. Beverley Road cycle scheme Start date: 16/11/21. Completion date: 16/11/21. Details of work: Cycle Lane marking. Lane closure inbound between Hall Road and Sutton Road. Works to take place between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Organisation: Hull City Council – MP&I. Beverley Road, Freetown Way & Spring Bank West Start date: 8/11/21. Completion date: 19/11/21. Details of work: Variable messaging sign installation in footways. This scheme is to create the foundations and install the poles. Work taking place over 10 sites (most have no carriageway incursion) over a 10-day period. Each site will require a maximum of three to four visits and traffic management will be removed at the end of each visit.
