Roadworks at the Cranbrook Avenue and Cottingham Road junction have been extended until July 11 with the closure of Cranbrook Avenue to continue for a further seven days over schedule until June 27. Hull Live previously reported that the planned works by Hull City Council would begin on Cottingham Road on Monday, May 24, lasting until June 20, and are being undertaken to improve the deteriorating road surface. The council said specialists would also be investigating the sunken road surface at the junction with Cranbrook Avenue as part of the three phased job which was expected to last four weeks. They said the works were to be completed in three phases in order to minimise any impact to traffic, as while one phase was being carried out, the two other phases would be open to allow traffic to flow up and down Cottingham Road.
