A host of new road works are set to start this week across Hull – including the A63. Work on the A63, Anlaby Road, Barham Road, and Banstand Roundabout are scheduled to start and diversions will be in place. Other road works are expected to finish this week, with further improvements scheduled for the festive period. Read more stories on traffic and travel in Hull here. But as Storm Arwen has rushed into the UK over the weekend including violent winds and even snow, the weather could cause further delays. Works will be carried out from 7pm until 6am from Monday to Friday, and on Saturday mornings. Resurfacing of Chamerlain Road and Stoneferry Road will also take place on Monday, December 6 in the latest phase of the Stoneferry improvement scheme. Councillor Dean Kirk, portfolio holder for transportation, roads and highways said: “With the Stoneferry improvement scheme, we are improving access and use for thousands of residents and businesses in the area. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.” All the road works starting this week A63 improvement scheme – Porter Street Bridge: Works will start on Porter Street Bridge from November 29. The A63 eastbound from Brighton Street to Roger Millward Way will close overnight from 8pm until 6am. And westbound from Roger Millward Way to Daltry Street will also face interruptions. Work is expected to be finished by December 3. Anlaby Road: The road will close on Tuesday November 30 due to removal of artwork from the pedestrian crossing between the junction of Coltman Street. The interruptions will be between the hours of 7pm until 11pm. Barham Road: The road will closed from November 29 until January 1 due to carriageway and concrete repairs. Holderness Road to Ganstead Roundabout: Starting on Tuesday November 11 essential works will be conducted to to install communications pole. Four-way signals will be in place as workers conduct a pole lift from 6.30pm to 11.30pm. Carriageway will be clear at all other times. Ongoing road works A63 improvement scheme – Commercial Road: Works on Commercial road started on October 26 in a bid to enable H&S and safe systems of works for operatives working on the scheme. The improvements are supposed to finish in April of 2022. Beverley road cycle scheme: The implementation of cycle scheme began on October 22. Mizzen road to Hall Road Inbound close between 9.30am to 3.30pm daily but is expected to reopen on December 12. Beverley Road – Brunswick Arcade: Work on the Brunswick Arcade demolition began
