Motorists in Hull have been left frustrated with some reporting ‘hour-long’ commutes across the city due to the closure of Air Street once again. The road makes up part of a busy travel network in Hull, with Air Street connecting Bank Side and Wincolmlee to Sculcoates Lane. Although closed during peak times, the road remains open between 5pm and 8am in the morning. One driver complained that it took them “an hour to get home from east hull to west Hull due to air street being closed”, while another said it took them “an hour to get from Bransholme to Princes Avenue”. The works, which started on Tuesday, January 3, were originally estimated to be completed in six weeks.
