Angry man left with £2,000 bill has message to drivers in Hull pub car park hit and run

Colin Herring, 53, of north Hull, says he and his wife Vanessa, 50, were dining at the Cross Keys pub in Beverley Road on Friday, December 20, when their car was hit by another in the car park. A Peugeot 208 reversed into their Vauxhall Mokka in the pub’s car park. The driver sped off straight away and it was only when Mr Herring and his wife left the pub that they realised their car had been hit. Mr Herring said: “Every Friday I pick my wife up from work at around 5.30pm and we go to have something to eat before we do our weekly food shop. We’ve done that for quite a while, every Friday night. “As usual, on that night, we parked up and went inside, said our hellos to the locals and had our food. “At around 6.30pm, we walked out to the car and noticed the damage on the rear passenger side. I noticed the CCTV was right above it so went into the pub to see the landlord.” Pictures of the damage The landlord of the pub, Mr Herring says, was very helpful and looked back over the CCTV which showed a car with four people in, reverse into Mr Herring’s Vauxhall – which he says he has only had for around nine months.
