In the role of Aviation Fire Fighter you will contribute to making DSA outstanding as a champion of our businesses IMPACT values: Our IMPACT Values Integrity Maintain a safe and secure environment Passionate People Achieve Together Customer-focused Teamwork If you believe you have the personal characteristics and attributes we are looking for and you would like to join our awarding winning team, playing a part in realising our Vision, please read on… The role Resource fire appliances and attend emergency incidents, including first aid / medical emergencies Maintain the required level of competencies by the Company and regulator Maintain equipment for operational readiness to specified standards Promote and adopt safe working practices Delivering training courses to internal staff and external companies Wildlife and grassland management Winter Operations Airfield Operations The Person Ideally you must hold a Civil Aviation recognised Firefighter Qualification or be willing to self-fund a course over a 48 month period (we will talk you through your options) Hold a full UK Driving Licence IT literate, with a good standard of education (Maths and English) Able to pass a Company medical and physical tests, including attaining 9.1 on the Multistage Fitness Test (Bleep Test) Previous experience within an airport Fire Service, would be an advantage A LGV licence and/or First Aid course would be desirable Able to work on a flexible shift basis To work well under pressure and good communication skills Be a team player and have a flexible attitude in their approach to work. Experience of Airport operations or similar would be desirable Live within a 45 minute drive time, able to successfully complete a full-five background check and criminal record check Benefits Hours of work – the airport is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; you will work 42 hours per week, on a 4 on/4 off shift pattern, 12 hour shifts, with the flexibility to provide overtime cover as required.
