An improvement scheme for a road in East Yorkshire will see the route closed from morning to evening for at least eight days. East Riding Council is investing £100,000 in a “green” lower-carbon approach to the road surfacing works needed near Sigglesthorne, Hornsea. The roadworks are due to start on Monday, March 27. The project should improve the condition and skid resistance of the B1243 Rise Road. It will involve a stretch of the road between Rise Lane and Catwick Heads junctions, near Sigglesthorne. The road will need to be temporarily closed while the work is carried out to ensure the safety of the travelling public and the workforce. Access is only permitted for homes within the works area. A signed diversion route will be in place via Rise Lane, A614 Whitecross Road, A1035 and Rise Road at Sigglesthorne. The existing road will first be repaired in localised areas, before a retexturing process is carried out on the road surface to regain its skid resistance and extend the life of the road.
