Holiday bookings to France are said to be booming following the government's decision to remove the country from their “amber plus” list. The removal – which means vaccinated travellers will no longer have to quarantine on their return from France – has seen a surge in holiday bookings. Travel operators have reported a jump in demand despite the school holidays having already begun. Jet2 has said August bookings to amber and green list destinations have risen by 250% while Hays Travel, Britain's largest independent agent, told Sky News that bookings rose by 193%. READ MORE: Latest updates on roaming charges for Vodafone, EE, O2, Three, Virgin, Sky, BT and Tesco Mobile Brittany Ferries have also reported huge numbers of bookings since the Government announcement last week. However Britons travelling to France for their next holiday are being warned over new rules in the country which could possibly see them being refused entry to restaurants and bars. It comes after French President Emmanuel Macron extended the use of the Covid ‘health pass' in France – which means people must upload proof of being double vaccinated to the French coronavirus smartphone app. Those without the app, or the 20 percent of Brits who do not have a smartphone, could be refused entry to hundreds of hotspots, reports the Express.
