Boy in hospital after object smashes bus window and strikes him on head in Hull

A boy needed hospital treatment after a object smashed a bus window before hitting him on the head. The bus was travelling in the Newtondale area of Sutton Park shortly before 5.30pm on Monday, January 3 when the passenger was struck by the unknown object. Click here to read more Hull crime news. Humberside Police have launched an investigation and warned against the consequences of what may seem like “a bit of harmless fun”. The force is bow looking to confirm what happened and identify anyone responsible. A force spokesman said: “Investigations are underway after a boy suffered a head injury when a bus window was smashed in the Newtondale area of Hull on Monday, January 3. “The bus was travelling down the road shortly before 5.30pm when an unknown object smashed the bus window before hitting the boy in the head. The boy was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are not thought to be serious at this stage. “An investigation has been launched to confirm exactly what happened and identify anyone responsible.” Chief Inspector Paul Gladstone said: “We will not tolerate anyone who chooses to put the safety of others at risk by throwing or firing items at moving traffic. “Thankfully on this occasion the injuries sustained were relatively minor, however next time that may not be the case. “We will be following up all viable lines of enquiry, doing everything we can to identify anyone responsible and bring them to justice. “To anyone thinking about behaving in this way I would say think again. “It may seem like a bit of harmle
