Shocked passengers watched on as a man ended up with his hand trapped in a door after he tried to leave a bus while it was moving. One passenger, who wishes to remain anonymous, filmed the man arguing with the driver and shouting abuse while travelling on the Stagecoach number 6 bus down Beverley Road in Hull on Wednesday afternoon. She said: “The passenger had his phone in the trapped hand and asked the driver to open the door but he kept driving. I was worried he was going to hit his hand on something and break it. “Everyone else on the bus felt scared by the man but I can understand why he reacted the way he did. “I also would be so mad if the bus driver carries on driving with my hand out the door. It must have hurt and he must have been very worried.” But Stagecoach has stood by the driver and says the passenger was “disruptive and threatening”. A spokesperson for Stagecoach East Midlands said: “We can confirm an incident took place on one of our buses on Wednesday, July 21 on the service 6 route on Beverley Road involving a disruptive passenger. “The passenger attempted to leave the vehicle as it was mid-journey using a door release button. “To prevent the passenger from endangering himself by leaving the bus in live traffic at an unsafe stopping place, the driver closed the doors.
