There have been calls to 'ban and crush the car' of a speeding driver who reached 115mph on a 40mph East Yorkshire road. The driver, in rural Sigglesthorne, was caught by police travelling at the “grossly excessive” speed, officers revealed. Earlier in the day, a team of special constables performing road checks in Hedon stopped a vehicle with what they described as a 'horrific example of a bald tyre'. On Thursday evening, Humber Roads Police took to Twitter to express their shock at catching the speeding motorist in Sigglesthorne near Hornsea who was travelling such a large amount over the speed limit. Humber Roads Police tweeted: “Officers conducting speed checks as part of our casualty reduction efforts recorded one driver travelling at a grossly excessive 115 mph in a 40 mph zone this afternoon in Sigglesthorne, East Yorkshire.
