Car smashes into lamppost and bursts into flames on A63 near Hessle

A car smashed into a lamppost and burst into flames on the A63. The crash, involving a black Vauxhall, happened on the A63 slip road at Hessle, shortly before midnight on Wednesday. When emergency services attended the scene, the occupiers of the vehicle had already fled. A witness video shows substantial damage to the front of the car and the fire service putting out the flames. There was no disruption to traffic on the A63 on Thursday morning. The vehicle, a black Vauxhall, collided with a lamppost and had set on fire. “The occupiers of the vehicle had fled the scene prior to the report of the collision.
