A multi-storey car park in Hull city centre is closing for urgent electrical work next week. The George Street car park, which is operated by Hull City Council, will be closed from 4pm on Sunday, August 7. It is currently scheduled to re-open on Monday, August 15. Andy Burton, assistant director for streetscene at Hull City Council, said: “We apologise for the inconvenience this work may cause to those who usually park in George Street multi-storey car park. Fortunately, we have plenty more low-cost parking available in the city centre, so people should still be able to park nearby. We aim to get this essential work completed and the car park reopened as soon as we can.” The council says its alternative nearby multi-storey car parks in the city centre include Pryme Street, which is open 7am to 7pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 4pm on Sundays, and Osborne Street, which operates 24 hours a day seven days a week.
