Daren Hale confronts motorists blaming council for Myton Bridge fiasco

Hull city councillor Daren Hale has criticised Highways England after the Myton Bridge was closed causing traffic chaos – and stressed the council is not to blame. There were huge delays in Hull city centre on Tuesday afternoon (December 1) when the A63 bridge was closed for an emergency inspection. The area near the bridge, which links Castle Street to Hedon Road, has been subject of drilling work in recent weeks. Diversions were put in place on Tuesday afternoon which pushed traffic to the Drypool Bridge via Lowgate and Union Street, causing gridlock in the city centre.
