Delays as slow abnormal load heads along A63, A1034 and…

Delays are expected in Hull today (Sunday) as an abnormal load is transported across the city from Albert Dock, west Hull, to Cottingham. The huge electricity transformer is being transported from Albert Dock via the A63, A1034 and the A1079. It joined the A63 from the Daltry Street flyover at around 10.20am, reached the Humber Bridge just after 11am and is expected to arrive in Cottingham in the late afternoon or early evening. Hitachi Energy is transporting the transformer as part of the Dogger Bank Wind Farm project. Electricity produced by the turbines is processed at a convertor station near Cottingham.
