Diners at a restaurant in Spring Bank heard a 'loud bang' as a three-car smash closed the road, with glass and debris strewn across the tarmac. Humberside Police are appealing for witnesses following the crash, which happened at around 9pm last night near the Stanley Street turning just outside the Tesco car park. Police closed Spring Bank between Princes Avenue and Stanley Street at 9.15pm on Wednesday and the road did not open for over an hour as emergency services dealt with the incident. A local resident described the incident as unsurprising given the way some drives approach that stretch of road and a local restaurant owner said the collision could be clearly heard from inside his premises. The three damaged cars at the scene of the crash in Spring Bank (Image: Hull Live) A Humberside Police spokesperson said: “We were called to a report of a road traffic collision at 9:00pm last night (Wednesday 18 August) on Spring Bank, Hull, in which three vehicles collided. “Thankfully, no one was seriously injured. “The road was closed at 9:15pm and reopened at around 10:40pm. We would like to thank motorists and the public for their patience. “If anyone witnessed or has dashcam footage of the incident, they are advised to call us on our non-emergency number 101, quoting log 552 of 18 August.” The impact between the three cars left debris and glass spread across the road which was part of the reason for the lengthy delay in reopening the road as a council team cleared the area. One local resident passing the incident said they weren't shocked to see a multi-car collision on the stretch of road suggesting that many people drive recklessly in the area. He said: “I'm not surprised to be honest, people shoot around this junction and up and down this bit of road.
