Disbelief as authorities confirm when Spring Bank West will reopen

Yorkshire Water have confirmed the major city centre route will be “shut until at least the weekend” and a diversion has been put in place. It has left many who use the key thoroughfare frustrated and in disbelief. One commuter said: “Oh joys! Glad I’m not having to get to work in the next week!” Engineers have looked into partially opening the road, however, due to the considerable damage caused, the company cannot confirm whether this is possible. The burst water pipe sent a torrent of water across the street on Monday evening, which almost flooded properties inside Spring Bank West and residents have been left without water as well as poor water pressure. East Yorkshire buses have tweeted to say that they will be diverted while works are undertaken “which will last a week”.
