The accident happened shortly before 1pm on Thursday, October 3, on the westbound carriageway of the A63 between St Andrew’s Quay and the Priory Way junction at Hessle. One witness said that the “car had rolled and gone up in smoke” and the driver managed to climb out of the vehicle as emergency services rushed to the scene. He said: “A good few cars had pulled in and helped who was behind. Many cops and ambulances were rushing down to get there.” Humberside Fire and Rescue Service dispatched three appliances and a specialist equipment unit to deal with the recovery of the
