Drivers fled Humber Bridge crash scene as two women left trapped

Two women had to be rescued after they were left trapped in a car that was involved in a collision on the Humber Bridge. Humberside Fire and Rescue Service were called to the bridge shortly after 4.30pm on Thursday afternoon (March 25) following reports of a three-vehicle road traffic accident. Two of the vehicles had already left the scene before fire crews arrived, however, two women had been left trapped inside the remaining vehicle. Traffic on the northbound carriageway of the Humber Bridge was brought to a halt for over an hour as firefighters dealt with the accident. Firefighters used hydraulic equipment to remove the car doors before they could free the trapped women. To sign up for the Hull Live newsletter, click here. One woman suffered neck and spinal injuries as a result of the accident, while the other had pain in her legs. It is understood both are in hospital. A spokesperson for Humberside Fire and Rescue Service said:
