Drivers reminded of full weekend closure on A63 in Hull…

Drivers are being reminded that the A63 in Hull city centre will be closed this weekend while a major step in the Castle Street project is carried out. National Highways says it is “now at the stage where we can start to pour concrete for the base slabs of the underpass” which will require a full closure in both directions between Daltry Street and Roger Millward Way. This will begin at 8pm on Friday, March 7 and continue until 6am on Monday, March 10. The underpass at Mytongate will form part of a new split-level junction with Ferensway and Commercial Road crossing over the A63. The eastbound carriageway between Princes Dock Street and Market Place is also being widened to three lanes as part of the £355m project which “will improve access to the port, congestion, safety and connections between the city centre and the tourist and recreational facilities”.
