National Highways is pressing ahead with vital works on A63 Castle Street and the new junction at Mytongate as part of a major project to enhance travel in Hull. A critical part of the upgrade, a new split-level junction, is being formed by lowering the level of the A63 to create an underpass, with Ferensway and Commercial Road crossing over the A63. To ensure the next stages of the work can be executed safely, there will be a week of overnight closures followed by a full weekend closure of the A63 Castle Street. The closure will be in effect between Daltry Street and Roger Millward Way. During the weekend closure the Market Place A63 entry slip road will remain open to provide an additional eastbound exit route from the city centre. A fully signed diversion will be in place via the A15, A164, A1079 and A1033 for eastbound traffic, and vice versa for westbound.
