East Yorkshire house damaged after being struck by lorry
A house in the East Yorkshire village of Preston was badly damaged after being struck by a transporter carrying a machine this morning. Photographs from the scene showed collapsed brickwork on the pavement and a broken window on the upper floor. It appeared a crane being carried by the transporter collided with the front of the property. Humberside Police put up a cordon around the damage. Main Street was shut to traffic in both directions for several hours while the area was made safe. The traffic reporting service Inrix described the incident as “an unsafe building” and said the road was reopened by 1pm. The police confirmed nobody had been hurt in the incident. It is not yet clear what caused the collision. Damage to the house in Main Street, Preston, East Yorkshire (Image: Michelle Wing) A spokesperson
