An eyewitness said paramedics and police were at the scene. Read more:Vandals caught on CCTV slashing car tyre and smashing windscreen She added that drivers were being diverted. It comes after Hull City Council answered concerns the junction would become an 'accident blackspot' by insisting the changes would benefit road users and pedestrians. In a statement, a spokesperson for Hull City Council said: “The traffic signals at this junction have recently had an upgrade, which has noticeably improved traffic flow, especially at peak times. “The signals now work in the same way as many others across the city. When the full green light appears, drivers turning right on to Chanterlands Avenue can either wait for a safe gap in the oncoming traffic, or wait for the right-turn arrow. “The arrow appears only when a vehicle is detected beyond the stop line. The length of time the arrow stays green depends on how many vehicles are waiting. “The changes were advertised in advance through local media, and signs informing drivers of the changes will remain at the junction for as long as necessary.” This is a live blog.
