To work closely with all stakeholders within the airport community to provide a consistent, holistic and cohesive environmental service. To be responsible for the airport’s environmental policies and procedures, and maintaining ISO50001 standard. To oversee the implementation of the airport’s 106 agreement and associated planning conditions. To oversee the operation and maintenance of the Noise & Track Monitoring System. To monitor energy consumption, managing energy reduction and deliver reduced carbon footprint. To play a key role in the Airport’s Corporate Responsibility committee including, community engagement, community fund and events. To be responsible for day to day environmental matters, including but not limited to noise control, sound insulation grant, conservation and biodiversity, local air quality, waste management & minimisation, community investment fund. Represent the airport on external working groups and forums. The Person Environment degree or equivalent qualification/experience. Proven competency of environmental management and strong knowledge of environmental legislation, policy and practice. Sound judgement and ability to evaluate options to make appropriate recommendations. Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to establish relationships at all levels. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships at all levels internally and externally. Computer literate and analytical/numeracy skills. Tact, diplomacy and influencing skills. Attention to detail and methodical approach to working. Membership of a relevant professional body would be desirable. Practical knowledge of ISO50001 or equivalent would be desirable. Experience of working with local communities to deliver corporate responsibility activities would be an advantage. Experience in the aviation industry would be also desirable.
