Rail users have been sharing their opinions on the new ticket barriers installed at Hull Paragon Station – and not all of them are favourable. The barriers, which were installed in an effort to reduce ticket fraud, are now in place, but will not come into use until early next month. The four ticket scanners are similar to those found in many larger train stations across the country. Four new customer information screens are also due to be installed, while new CCTV cameras are set to monitor passengers going through the barriers. So far, train users are split on whether the barriers are necessary. There’s nothing left as a town for shopping.” Lyndsey added: “What’s the problem?? They’ve already been in other stations years? About time we caught up!” Rhianne said: “People saying it’s all about money; no, it’s about modernising our old rundown station; pretty much every train station has these barriers; it’s to stop people from getting trains without paying!
