Ferensway in Hull to close for emergency repairs to ‘unsafe’ junction

Ferensway is set to close for emergency repairs to an “unsafe” junction. Hull City Council stated the works, which will begin from 8pm at the junction of Ferensway and Anlaby Road, were required to replace anti-skid surfacing that has worn away. Drivers are being advised to avoid the junction if possible and find alternative routes. Council highways lead Andy Bell said: “We appreciate that this is short notice, but the road surface on the junction has become unsafe and needs to be repaired as a matter of urgency. To minimise the disruption this will have on motorists, we are carrying out this work outside of peak times and we will reopen the road as soon as we can.” Read more: City centre car park closing for a week for urgent repairs The works are expected to take around four hours to complete and access to the junction will be limited during that time. Only left turns will be allowed on Anlaby Road eastbound and there will be no access to the junction for westbound traffic, due to a closure from Anne Street.
