Fortnight of roadworks to begin on Bricknell Avenue in Hull
Two weeks of works are set to begin later this month on a stretch of a major Hull road. The essential maintenance will improve a 53-metre section of Bricknell Avenue and involve reconstructing and resurfacing a “failed area” of the carriageway “to ensure the highway provides a safe and even surface for traffic, and that it has adequate grip and skid resistance”. The work will take place on the inbound carriageway between the junction of Strathcona Avenue and Hotham Road North. It is scheduled to start on Monday, August 26 and is planned to take two weeks to complete – weather permitting. Phase two – Resurfacing of the inbound traffic lane and cycle lane from Monday, September 2 to Sunday, September 8. This phase will be undertaken using overnight road closures from 7pm to 6am the following day. A diversion route will be in place for inbound traffic via Hull/Cottingham Road and Fairfax Avenue.
