Four dead in A63 crash: Police watchdog completes investigation

The police watchdog says it has completed its investigation into a devastating crash which claimed the lives of four people. In November 2021, three men and a woman died in a two-car crash on the A63 near Melton. The horrific collision happened when a BMW 1 series carrying three men collided head-on with a Peugeot being driven by Elloughton mum Alison Clark. Alison, 43, was pronounced dead at the scene on November 22, 2021, as were two of the three men – Willy Harty, 21 and Lawrence James, 21. Sam Connors, 20, was taken to hospital in critical condition but died five days later. The IOPC later confirmed they were investigating the A63 crash. Humberside Police confirmed there was an active police operation in the area shortly before the fatal collision. A63 crash victim Alison Clark Witnesses described a police presence in the area near to Melton industrial estate, not far from the site of the collision, shortly before the fatal incident. Others claimed to have seen a vehicle matching the description of the white BMW, heading away from Hull and ignoring traffic signals, earlier the same night.
