Full weekend closure planned for A63 in Hull city centre

The A63 in Hull city centre will close for a full weekend next month as a “key milestone” is reached on the Castle Street project. More than 1,000 cubic metres of concrete will be poured into the underpass as part of the scheme to create a new split-level junction at Mytongate. To complete this phase of work, National Highways will close the A63 in both directions between Daltry Street and Roger Millward Way from 8pm on Friday, March 7 until 6am on Monday, March 10. The £355m project, due for completion by Spring 2026, is seeing the level of the A63 being lowered at the junction with Ferensway and Commercial Road to create a new interchange. National Highways project manager Michael Upshon said: “We are now at the stage where we can start to pour concrete for the base slabs of the underpass, which is excellent news following recent challenges on the scheme. “This planned weekend closure is essential to allow us to complete this phase.
