Further delays for Hull motorists as three months of major roadworks to start in Saltshouse Road

Motorists in Hull are to face another three months of delays as major roadworks are due to start in Saltshouse Road. Pedestrian islands are being installed in the road and “other essential works” are to be carried out at the same time. A two-way traffic light system will be in operation during the roadworks. Read more: Hull traffic, travel and news live updates on October 7 The work will begin on Monday, October 11, and two pedestrian islands will be put in place in Saltshouse Road, between Dunvegan Road and Clearview Close. “For the many people who walk down Saltshouse Road every day, the new pedestrian refuge islands will make crossing much easier and safer,” said Councillor Dean Kirk, portfolio holder for transportation, roads and highways at Hull City Council. “To minimise disruption, we will also be carrying out some other essential works to the road during this time.
