Hull bus driver’s controversial answer to cars pulling out in front of him

A Hull bus driver's post on social media about cars pulling out in front of his vehicle has sparked controversy and it does not appear to have gone down well with everyone. The bus driver posted a “question” in the Hull Traffic & Travel Facebook group. The post, which has been shown to Hull Live, claimed to be a “bus driver POV on the chancers”. Neither are my passengers. While it is possible to stop a bus quite quickly, that's not what's going to happen. I'm not going to press the brake pedal as hard as you are or as hard as you think I'm going to. “I'm going to take my foot off of the gas, apply a small amount of brake pressure and then use your car to slow down. It's smoother for my passengers. “I'm not driving my bus. You're (probably) not driving my car. Thoughts?” But one man was alarmed by what he had read and alerted the post, and a comment on it from another driver, to Hull Live. “Any thoughts, or maybe [the company's] thoughts on this bus driver's plan to stop using his brakes and begin crashing into cars?” he said. “And the attitude of this driver commenting.” The comment he was referring to from another driver said: “When I'm driving my bus, I take wing mirrors off and don't stop, the trick is to not react or look in your mirrors.
