When a busy driver posted on Facebook asking drivers if they let buses have the right of way it prompted an avalanche of opinions that divided the Hull community. Now the row rumbles on, with many sharing their personal opinions on the rights and wrongs of the issue after Hull Live reported the bus driver's remarks. The anonymous driver first raised the issue at the start of this week, when he took to social media to express his frustrations after an encounter with an impatient driver as he tried to pull away from a stop in Holderness Road on Sunday. He asked: “Just thought I’d get a general perception of what people think or do when it comes to allowing buses to pull away from stops?” Many were not sympathetic to his concerns, and appeared to side with the female passenger who was clearly annoyed that he pulled out in front of them. One wrote: “I will often give way to buses coming out of their stop, however I am getting increasingly annoyed with bus drivers pulling out on me the second they put their indicators on. “Yes it's best practice to let them out from their bay, but if I am on the road already I have right of way. If they indicate, wait, and look, and I'll happily let them out.” Another agreed, posting: “You might as well give way to bus drivers because they will just pull out anyway and usually with no indication or warning. “A bus driver did that to me. I was on his rear quarter, he had no indicator on and he decided just to pull out, causing me to hit the brakes and nearly causing a four-car smash at the same time. “And then had the cheek to give me the middle finger salute as if I was in the wrong. Use your indicators and mirrors, they're not there for decoration.” One woman posted: “My husband doesn't let buses pull out, as they have no manners. There is a very busy road near us and at school leaving time it's carnage. “We had right of way, our side of the road was empty, and this bus driver decided he wanted t
