Hull families ‘leave station with crying kids’ after trains to…
Dozens of Hull families were left disappointed after disruption to train services spoiled their plans to travel to the East Yorkshire coast. The warm weather today prompted many parents to take their children to the beach but three cancelled trains meant that Paragon Station descended into chaos. Due to the cancellations, commuters were urged to travel on alternative services but these soon became too full. This meant that staff had to tell families they could not board the train, as it would be unsafe to operate at that capacity. A woman at the scene claimed disappointed children were crying after being sat on the platform for too long, causing parents to abandon their plans altogether. Train operator Northern has since apologised for the difficult conditions. The next train was cancelled, leaving families with a long wait for another service- many with crying kids have gone home. “Children were having their picnics on the platform instead of by the beach.
