Hull man recalls moment driver almost ‘hit’ him before crashing into electric pylon

A man has recalled the moment a driver allegedly almost hit him before crashing into an “electric pylon” describing it like something out of a movie. The Hull man, 28, says he was travelling down Hornsea Road, in Skipsea, when the incident happened shortly after 10.30pm on Saturday. “Just witnessed the crash on Hornsea Road in Skipsea,” he told Hull Live the night it happened. “He nearly hit me and then went into an electric pylon.” READ MORE: Hull bus driver's controversial answer to cars pulling out in front of him He has since recalled what he says happened and said the incident occurred as he was approaching a bend. “He came round the corner on the wrong side of the road,” he said. “I came to a stop, said 'you d*******'. I put my hazards on and he flew across into a pylon. “There was green sparks everywhere. All the electric went out along that row. They've got generators now keeping the electric going down the street. “I got straight out, rang the ambulance and the police.” The man says someone, who he believed may have come from the vehicle, noticed he was on the phone and was coming towards him. Although he cannot be sure, he believes there may have been multiple passengers in the car as well as the driver when the crash happened. “Someone out the car noticed I was on the phone,” he said. “They said he’s already on the phone to them – maybe they meant the police. “They were coming towards me. I could see a torch getting closer so I jumped back in the car, drove off and carried on the phone call with the ambulance service as I got further down the road. “If I’m on the phone to police and they don’t want the police called then I’m vulnerable. I’m there on my own. “I went back after the phone call. All the street was out.” He continued: “The guy was
