Hull train station’s historic Platform 1 set to reopen for…

A platform at Hull’s Paragon Station could be brought back into use after 30 years. Platform 1 has lain dormant since the early 1990s but now Network Rail has submitted plans to bring it back into use. The organisation says it would boost capacity and improve the experience for rail passengers. A listed building consent application has been submitted to Hull City Council planners to carry out the work. The platform is grade II-listed due to its historic role in transporting migrants from Europe to America. To improve operational constraints and provide additional passenger platforming capabilities, platform one is to be re-introduced into passenger service. “There are currently six operational passenger platforms, all of which are accessed via the station concourse.
