Several Hull streets look set to get new and improved cycle lanes, including some built off-road. Hull City Council has awarded a contract worth £322,326 to draw up designs for new cycle lanes, including in Chanterlands Avenue, Freetown Way, Clough Road and Preston Road. Senior councillors say it follows the results of a transport survey in which people said they wanted higher quality, off-road cycle lanes. It comes after the council unveiled plans for new-look, off-road cycle lanes along Freetown Way, as part of an upgrade backed by almost £3m in Government funding.
