‘Incredible’ off duty nurse who aided helpless north Hull crash victim before 15-hour hospital shift

A Castle Hill Hospital nurse has been hailed a hero after providing emergency care to seriously-injured motorcyclist on her day off. She rushed to the aid of a man found seriously hurt after a crash in north Hull at around 3pm on Sunday as police eagerly awaited medics. Click here to read the latest breaking news stories. The incident, on the corner of Ellerburn Avenue where it meets Orchard Park Road, caused a road closure in both directions after a car and motorbike collided. Nearby residents stepped in to aid the motorcyclist, and one man recalled the particular bravery of a “hero” nurse. We didn't see the actual crash – just the lad on the floor. “A nurse got out of her car and went and assisted them. She was aiding the police for almost 35 minutes until the ambulance got there. To sign up for the Hull Live newsletter, click here. “They had little resources to help and in the end armed police turned up with the medical supplies because the ambulance was taking that long.” He continued: “The police understandably seemed out of their depth slightly but the nurse instructed them. Multiple people thanked her, including the police. “Once the ambulance arrived she even stayed and helped the paramedics, aided them and then helped them put him inside the ambulance. “Then the police took her details.
