Kerbs aimed at deterring inconsiderate parking to be rolled out…

The installation of kerbs aimed at preventing inconsiderate parking in west Hull are set to be rolled out after a successful trial. Cars are often seen parked on footpaths in Goddard Avenue and Newland Avenue, which are causing “major inconveniences” to wheelchair users or those with pushchairs. The problems were raised by the ward councillors and recently pin kerbs were installed on Goddard Avenue to see how effective they would be. Following a successful trial on a section of the street by Hull City Council, the wheel stop kerbs are going to be installed on the rest of the street. Contractors will be installing them from Monday next week. It mean cars can no longer park on the pavements, leaving ample space for pedestrians to pass through.
